my influence map assignment

It’s the beginning of the semester, and that means that lots of my students are working on their first assignment: the influence map! This fall, I have one class making  influence maps about their conception of “England,” and another class mapping their understanding of “magic.”

I always enjoy this project; it reminds me to think with all the different parts of my brain, rather than just defaulting to my verbal comfort zone. And I always enjoy seeing what my students create, too!

So here’s my magic influence map:
