I’m teaching a new course this semester on medieval magic and mysticism. We have spent several weeks reading primary documents (from Aquinas to the Malleus Malificarum and everything in between) on the perception, practice, and prosecution of magic and witchcraft. To wrap up this part of the course, my students wrote and presented two witch trials based on the documents we have read. The trials went very well and we had a lively Q&A discussion afterwards.
